designer . food slinger . whimsy lover Vanessa Toye is fascinated by cultural tics and the natural compulsions of people that provoke them into action. She used to consult as a Mechanical Engineer but has since found a passion for deriving insights from human behaviour. As a graduate of the OCADU Industrial Design program, she enjoys collaboratively creating innovative, impactful solutions to complex social problems. Her approach to human centred design is founded on design and systems thinking and she is currently a Senior Associate at MaRS Solutions Lab. Her work has included regulation for the sharing economy with the City of Toronto, envisioning the future of digital music licensing with Canadian Heritage, and developing webinar content for the Explore & Experiment series on social innovation labs for Innoweave. Sometimes you’ll find her developing and branding restaurant concepts or on food adventures all over.
Always happy to chat, you can find her at vanessa [at] vanessatoye [dot] com or posting food and travel photos all over her social media.
